A small, innocuous appearing “fire pot” designed to provide a small decorative flame explosively ignited as its reservoir was being refilled with a product deceptively marketed as a “safe” gel-like fuel substance. She was seriously and permanently injured. Claims against several companies connected with these dangerous products have been settled, confidentially, for substantial amounts. Fortunately, these original bottle designs have been removed from the market, but the fuel gel is still being sold.
